Pre- Procedure
  • No. But if you have questions or are on the fence about a procedure, a consult will clear up all of your questions and doubts.

  • No water or extreme sun exposure, so plan your vacations accordingly!

No Botox, fillers, microdermabrasion, chemical peels or anything of the like for at least 2 weeks prior to your procedure, and also two weeks after.

If you have reference pictures, please feel free to bring these to your appointment, along with the pencil or powder you are currently using.

If you tint your brows, you will want to do so 72 hours before your appointment.

You must not use Retin-A near the brow area 2 weeks before or after the procedure.

You will need to avoid water for 7–10 days after! This includes excessive sweating, pools, lakes, salt water, and extreme sun exposure.

  • Doing any of the following will cause excessive bleeding during your procedure and will hinder your final result:

    • Do not work out the day of your appointment.

    • You should not take any medications that may thin your blood (i.e. aspirin, ibuprofen) 72 hours before or immediately after your procedure.

    • Do not drink alcohol within 24 hours of your procedure.

    • Avoid caffeine for 12 hours before your procedure. (Caffeine increases blood flow and will affect your healed results).

After Care
  • Cosmetic tattooing is designed to fade over time. Factors such as skin type, lifestyle, age, metabolism, medications, and pigment color affect the longevity of the tattoo. The sun and some kinds of lighting (tanning beds) can affect the rate at which these pigments are broken down. To take care of your brows follow the aftercare instructions and touch-up your brows every 12–18 months (as needed). Touch-ups are normal and expected for permanent cosmetics.

Please note that final results vary and cannot be guaranteed due to the nature of skin as it heals. A follow-up appointment is recommended at 6–8 weeks where we can assess your pigment retention and make any changes necessary.

    • Wash morning and night for 7 days using cetaphil cleanser. Be sure to wash within 4 hours after your procedure. Always wash outside of the shower and use a mirror to ensure you're being extra gentle. wipe gently in the direction of hair growth—no circular motions or hard rubbing. use warm or cool water and pat dry with a clean cotton round.

    • Keep the area dry (aside from washing) until fully healed and all scabbing or flaking is gone—typically around 7 days.

    • Avoid getting your brows wet in the shower. Steamy, hot showers can open pores and soften scabs, which may lead to premature scabbing and uneven color. be especially careful to keep shampoo and conditioner from running over the brows.

    • No excessive sweating and avoid saunas, hot tubs, pools, oceans, or similar environments during healing.

    • Do not pick, rub, or scratch any scabs, and try to avoid sleeping on your face.

    • Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 2 weeks.

    • Apply ointment 2 times daily using a clean q-tip. if you have oily skin, apply once daily. continue use until the balm is gone—typically around 10 days or more.

  • Yes! All permanent cosmetic procedures require two sessions. during your 6–8 week follow-up, we’ll assess pigment retention and make any necessary adjustments. this follow-up also helps extend the longevity of your semi-permanent cosmetics.

  • In the hours after your procedure, your brows will appear darker and bolder than they will once healed due to oxidation in the skin’s surface layer. They may also look warmer in color. Some redness or swelling around the treated area is normal and typically fades within 48 hours.

Around day 3, you might notice flaking or light scabbing—do not pick at it, as this can cause pigment loss. Brows may look spotty or patchy until fully healed. Some areas may appear very light or seem to have lost pigment after peeling. This is due to a thicker epidermis that can mute or diffuse the pigment underneath. Over the next 4–6 weeks, the epidermis will normalize, and the softened pigment should become clearer on the skin’s surface.

By 4–8 weeks, your brows will be fully healed. Any pigment that hasn’t returned will be addressed during your touch-up appointment. If you prefer darker, bolder brows, we can also add more color or dimension at that time.

    • Sunscreen for your semi-permanent cosmetics: I recommend Color Guard, which you can find on Amazon.

    • Age and metabolism: The faster your metabolism, the quicker the pigment will fade.

    • Bleeding during the procedure: Excessive bleeding can significantly affect how your body retains pigment. While this isn’t entirely within our control, it’s important to follow the beforecare instructions to help minimize bleeding. This includes avoiding blood-thinning medications, alcohol, and caffeine 24 hours before your procedure.

    • Oily skin: Increased oil production can cause hairstrokes to blur and heal lighter or powdery.

    • Smoking: Smokers may notice their semi-permanent cosmetics fade faster.

    • Anemia and iron deficiency: These conditions can cause your body to absorb iron-based pigments more quickly.

    • Sun exposure: Increased sun exposure will cause premature fading. Using a specialized sunscreen like Color Guard helps protect your brows.
